I love her madly...
I don’t even know which gesture of hers won my heart —
Was it those silent eyes?
Or that talent of saying everything... without saying a word?
I am Safwan,
Sitting in my room, lost in thoughts of Zoboriya —
That one girl whose memories are no longer outside of me,
They’ve seeped deep within my being.
As every night, the room was dim.
Only a faint moonlight peeked through the window —
And that light... painted her face over everything I looked at."
---
"Why did you leave...?"
I whispered to myself —
Like even my voice was afraid
That it might shatter the silence.
She now lives in everything I do, everywhere I go.
When I make coffee —
I see the face that would softly say, “Add a little less sugar, Safwan…”
When I open a book —
I remember her scolding me for folding the pages.
Wherever I go…
Her laughter, her scoldings, her silences —
They walk beside me.
---
"Zoboriya..."
I looked at an old picture of her —
The one where she smiled with sheer simplicity.
"Those quiet eyes of yours… they spoke volumes —
But you never said anything for me.
Was I just someone desperate for your time?
Or a shelter you came to only when you were tired?"
My questions floated in the air —
But the answers never took shape.
---
I lit a cigarette —
But even that gave no comfort today.
It felt as if her memories had stolen away the warmth from every drag.
"I wasn’t AbuZarr... maybe that’s why I lost.
But in love, what do wins or losses even mean, Zoboriya?"
"The only thing that matters is...
you may now belong to someone else,
But the deepest part of my soul... is still only yours."
---
That one voice…
The one that always said, “You were too late, Safwan...”
Still echoes in my ears.
If only once... just once...
You had looked back at me,
I would've poured all my unfinished love into one breath and given it to you.
---
The night grows darker in my room —
And I keep whispering the same name...
"Zoboriya..."
And my loneliness replies,
"Even if love remained incomplete...
At least it was true."
---
Now, all that surrounds Safwan is smoke...
And Zoboriya’s shadow —
That comes back again and again...
But this time,
Maybe she left something behind...
Will Safwan seek her again?
Or will love now only live in memories...?
…

Meanwhile, at the hospital — AbuZarr…
---
In the silence of the hospital room, a gentle knock of hope resounds.
Dr. Saeed closed AbuZarr’s file and smiled — a subtle smile that came from the heart.
"AbuZarr...," he said softly, "We’ve repeated your tests. And… it’s really magical."
AbuZarr stared at him for a moment —
As if he couldn’t quite grasp what those words meant.
There was light in the doctor’s eyes, relief in his voice.
"Congratulations, AbuZarr," he said again, this time with more clarity.
AbuZarr’s brow furrowed slightly.
"What do you mean, Doctor?" his voice trembled.
The doctor got up from his chair and placed a hand on AbuZarr’s shoulder —
Like a friend, sharing strength.
"It means, AbuZarr… you’ve won your battle against the disease."
His tone was simple —
But in those words lived everything AbuZarr had longed to hear for months.
"The treatment you took… the courage you showed — it worked.
Your body is now producing the cells that are fighting off the illness.
You’re going to be completely fine soon."
AbuZarr’s eyes slowly welled up.
He looked at the doctor — like he still couldn’t believe it.
"You’re… telling the truth?"
The doctor nodded. "Yes. Absolutely.
What you’ve achieved, AbuZarr, very few can. You fought back."
AbuZarr closed his eyes —
As if a storm inside him had finally calmed.
That moment — his entire existence wept.
But outwardly, there was only a quiet smile...
A tired, worn-out, but victorious smile.

✨ Next Short Part
Safwan stood near the window as dawn slowly replaced the night.
The smoke had faded, but her name still lingered in the air.
For the first time in years, his phone vibrated.
An unknown number.
A single message appeared on the screen —
"Some loves are never meant to return…
but some destinies don’t accept goodbye so easily."
Miles away, AbuZarr stepped out of the hospital, breathing freely for the first time in months.
Life had given him another chance.
But love…
Love was about to test all three of them again.
Because some stories don’t end —
they wait.
