Title: When a Writer Doesn’t Receive Readers’ Responses – The Negativity That Begins to Grow in the Heart
Writing is an art through which a person presents their thoughts, emotions, and experiences to the world through words. Every writer wants people to read what they have written, understand it, and give their response to it. But sometimes it happens that a writer writes with complete effort and dedication, publishes their story or article, yet receives no response. No comments, no appreciation, and no suggestions. In such a situation, negativity slowly begins to grow in the writer’s heart.
First of all, the writer begins to feel that perhaps their writing is not good enough. They start doubting their own ability. The person who used to write with great enthusiasm yesterday now begins to look at every line with suspicion. They start thinking that people do not like what they write. This feeling weakens the writer’s confidence.
On the other hand, the writer begins to feel a sense of loneliness. Writing actually creates a connection — between the writer and the reader. When this connection is not felt, the writer begins to feel that they are speaking alone and there is no one to listen to them. This feeling slowly starts to affect their mind deeply.
Many writers, during such times, begin comparing themselves with other writers. They see that another writer’s post receives hundreds or thousands of likes and comments, while their own post remains completely silent. This comparison creates even more negativity in their mind. They begin to think that perhaps there is some flaw in them or their writing lacks something that others have.
But the truth is that every writer goes through such a time in their life. No great writer becomes famous from the very beginning. When they started writing, they also did not immediately receive readers’ attention or responses. However, they did not stop writing. They kept writing continuously, and gradually their readers also began to grow.
A writer should understand that writing is not only about receiving responses. Writing is a feeling; it is like a form of devotion. When a writer writes from the heart, their words surely reach someone’s heart. It is possible that a reader may not leave a comment, but they might still be silently influenced by that writing.
Many times readers do not give responses, yet they continue to read a writer regularly. Not every reader expresses their opinion by writing it down. Some people simply prefer reading and quietly absorbing the writer’s thoughts. Therefore, likes and comments should not be considered the only measure of success.
A writer should remember the purpose of their writing. If their goal is only to receive likes and comments, they will soon become disappointed. But if their goal is to convey their thoughts to people, then they must remain patient.
One way to avoid negativity is for the writer to keep improving their writing. Writing on new topics, adopting new styles, and continuing to learn are all parts of a writer’s growth. When a writer keeps learning, their writing also improves, and gradually the number of readers begins to grow.
Besides this, a writer should also try to connect with their readers. Sometimes asking simple questions, taking readers’ opinions, or involving them in discussions is also important. This makes readers feel that the writer values them and wants to hear their thoughts.
The most important thing is that a writer should never stop writing. Every great success begins with small steps. If today ten people are reading, tomorrow it may be a hundred, and one day it may be thousands. But this is only possible if the writer does not give up and continues writing.
In the end, it can be said that a writer’s greatest strength is their patience and dedication. Readers’ responses are important, but even more important is the writer’s belief in their own words. When a writer believes in their writing, one day the world will also recognize their work.
Therefore, if you ever feel that no one is reading or no response is coming, instead of becoming disappointed, hold your pen even more firmly. Because it is possible that a word written by you might change someone’s life — and sometimes even a single true reader is enough to give meaning to a writer’s journey. ✍️✨
